A team from the Ghana Boundary Commission, led by the Commissioner General, Major General Kotia and members of the Regional Security Council headed by the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon Dr Hafiz Bin Salih paid a working visit to Boundary sites in Sapelliga. The objective of the visit was to assess the effect of illegal mining activities on the international boundary line markings between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
The team was briefed on the state of the boundary pillars; and the state of the feeder road and patrol roads under construction by the 48 Engineers Regiment along the Ghana Burkina Faso boundary line from Galaka and to Ziki all within Sapelliga.
The visit ended at illegal mining sites where the Minister addressed the miners at the site. He urged them to desist from the illegal activities.
