These international boundaries are characterised by rivers, streams, forests, mountains, teak trees, and international boundary pillars. The management of Ghana\u2019s international land boundaries is a major function of the Commission, as stated in Act 1123 of 2024. Specifically, Act 1123 of 2024 charges the Commission to determine, demarcate, and reaffirm Ghana\u2019s international land boundaries in accordance with accepted principles of international law, as well as perform other functions ancillary to the demarcation and reaffirmation of Ghana\u2019s international land boundaries. Most importantly, GhBC is mandated by the Act to transform border areas into catalysts for growth, socio-economic and political integration to promote cross-border cooperation and minimise disputes between Ghana and her international land neighbours.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5045dab e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"5045dab\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d6bb762 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d6bb762\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><strong>Land Boundary Technical Committee<\/strong><\/h2><p>The Ghana Boundary Commission has a functional Land Boundary Technical Committee mandated by Act 1123 to: <br \/>(a) Deal with international land boundary disputes with the view to settling the dispute;<br \/>(b) Define land boundaries with a neighbouring country in accordance with the demarcation instrument or document for that purpose;<br \/>(c) Proffer solutions to international land boundary disputes;<br \/>(d) Promote the development and effective management of international land boundaries; and<br \/>(e) Make recommendations to the Board on international land boundary matters.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-568c6c5 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"568c6c5\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-436f5c5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"436f5c5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><strong>Membership of the Land Boundary Technical Committee<\/strong><\/h2><p>The Land Boundary Technical Committee consists of:<br \/>(a) The Commissioner-General as chairperson;<br \/>(b) The Director of the Survey and Mapping Division of the Lands Commission;<br \/>(c) One representative of the Attorney-General not below the rank of Chief State Attorney nominated by the Attorney-General;<br \/>(d) One representative of the following, not below the rank of a Director or an equivalent rank:<br \/>(i) The Ministry responsible for Foreign Affairs nominated by the Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs;<br \/>(ii) The Ministry responsible for National Security nominated by the Minister responsible for National Security;<br \/>(iii) The Ministry responsible for Lands and Natural Resources nominated by the Minister responsible for Lands and Natural Resources;<br \/>(iv) The Ministry responsible for Local Government nominated by the Minister responsible for Local Government;<br \/>(v) The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, nominated by the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority; and<br \/>(vi) The Immigration Service nominated by the Comptroller-General of the Immigration Service;<br \/>(e) One representative of the Ghana Armed Forces not below the rank of Colonel or an equivalent rank nominated by the Chief of Defence Staff;
