The Ghana Boundary Commission (GhBC) has commissioned a 3-unit classroom block, with a complimentary 6 unit toilet facility and a borehole, at New Town in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region. The project was funded by the GNPC – GHANA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the commissioning, the Commissioner of the General of the Ghana Boundary Commission, Brigadier General Anthony Ntem, reaffirmed the Commission\u2019s commitment to advancing human security, inclusive development, and community resilience along Ghana\u2019s international boundaries. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

He underscored the strategic importance of New Town as Ghana\u2019s last border community to the west and emphasised its vital role in safeguarding peace and security along Ghana\u2019s Western frontier. He further urged community members to maintain the facility and ensure it continues to serve its intended purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Representative of the Chief Executive Officer of GNPC – GHANA , Mrs. Patience Lartey described the project as a symbol of partnership, progress, and hope. She added that the project is a testament to the strong collaboration between GNPC and the Ghana Boundary Commission in promoting development in border communities. She further reaffirmed GNPC’s commitment to replicating such initiatives in other border communities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jomoro Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Edith Hagan expressed the Municipality\u2019s appreciation to the Ghana Boundary Commission and GNPC for the intervention and pledged to ensure the facility is well maintained to benefit future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
