As part of activities to commemorate the 2024 African Border Day (ABD) which is observed annually on 7 June, the Ghana Boundary Commission (GhBC) has embarked on media engagement to discuss the relevance of the Day and the major activities undertaken by the Commission towards its mandate.
To kickstart the engagement, panelists were interviewed on JoyNews and Uniiq FM on Monday, 4 June 2024 to elaborate on the theme of the African Border Day and activities of the Commission.
Mrs. Sarah Ekuban, Director Policy, Plans and Programmes and Madam Janet Adama, West Africa Programme Director of Conciliation Resources, Civil Society Organisation featured on JoyNews while Colonel Henry Badasu, Director of Boundary Operations and Mr John Tsotorvor, Director Research were hosted by Uniiq FM.
The African Border Day seeks to create awareness on the need to eliminate all sources of conflicts along the international boundary while making border communities peaceful, safe and harmonious for socio-economic integration and cultural development.
