The inaugural meeting of Heads of National Boundary Commissions in West Africa was held from 9 to 11 July 2024 at Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.
The meeting aims to establish a coordination mechanism between boundary commissions in West Africa towards enhancing border management strategies in the West Africa region.
The meeting was opened by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ghana Shirley Ayorkor Botchway. She underscored the importance of synchronizing country-level efforts within the West African region for effective boundary management.
The Commissioner General of the Ghana Boundary Commission, Major General Emmanuel Kotia reiterated the need to build synergies among National Boundary Commissions in West Africa to find common strategies for collective boundary management.
