The Commissioner General of the Ghana Boundary Commission, Maj Gen Anthony Ntem, received a two-member delegation from the Immigration and Border Governance Unit of the IOM Ghana at the Commission’s premises today.

The visit was to formally introduce IOM’s Border Governance and Community Stability Project, under which the Ghana Boundary Commission has been identified as a key stakeholder. The project seeks to strengthen border governance and regional stability across the cross-border regions of Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Mali. It focuses on inclusive community engagement, strengthening local governance systems, and enhancing collaboration with local authorities and law enforcement agencies to prevent cross-border threats while improving access to basic services in border communities.

Welcoming the delegation, Major General Ntem assured IOM of the Commission’s full support and collaboration toward the successful implementation of the project. He emphasised that the initiative will inure to the benefit of border populations, often the most marginalised and yet the most vulnerable to border security threats.
